Great Britain interested in increasing assistance to Ukraine and strengthening military-technical cooperation

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov held a meeting with Secretary of State for Defense of the United Kingdom Michael Fallon.

This has been reported by the press service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the east of Ukraine and the efforts of the Russian Federation to increase its influence on the world stage through destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.

The parties also paid particular attention to the issues of reforming the security and defense sector of Ukraine in accordance with the NATO standards and deepening Ukrainian-British cooperation in the military-technical sphere.

The State Secretary stressed that Great Britain is interested in increasing assistance to Ukraine. "We hope to gradually increase assistance and to strengthen the level of military-technical cooperation," he said.

Mr. Fallon also reassured that Great Britain's position regarding the sanctions pressure on the aggressor state remains unchanged.
