President Petro Poroshenko says he hopes that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
In an interview with Bloomberg during the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Poroshenko said: “U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump has unique opportunities for using all his influence to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and democracy”.
President Poroshenko stressed that if negotiations can lead to the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Ukrainian lands and the liberations of Crimea, it would be a "very important and positive." According to him, the possibility of such development of events "is still there."
