Merkel confirms extension of sanctions against Russia for another 6 months

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated that the European Union will extend sanctions against Russia because of situation in Ukraine for another six months.
Merkel said this following the EU summit, TASS news agency reports.
"We have made the political decision to extend the sanctions for another six months. This will be fixed in the corresponding technical process," the agency quoted Merkel as saying.
