President: We have to improve system of support for ATO participants, IDPs

President Petro Poroshenko signed the Decree “On Establishing Conditions for the Implementation of Rights of People with Disabilities” in the course of the meeting with representatives of civil society movement of people with disabilities that took place on the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention for the Rights of People with Disabilities.

This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.

Petro Poroshenko emphasized that the main purpose of the document was to change traditions that, unfortunately, still exist in our states concerning people with disabilities.

According to Petro Poroshenko, it is also necessary to improve the system of support for the ATO participants, IDPs and civilians who were wounded and became disabled.

"We must ensure rehabilitation, adaptation and employment of demobilized ATO participants with disabilities. That is why the institute of the Commissioner of the President on Rehabilitation of the Wounded ATO Participants has been established," Poroshenko said.
