Ukraine and Lithuania strongly condemn the temporary occupation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation and its aggression in Donbas.

This has been said in the Joint Statement made by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both states, the website of the Head of State reported.

"Our states strongly condemn the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol – by the Russian Federation and its aggression in Donbas. We call on the international community to continue active political, diplomatic and other efforts for restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity in its internationally recognized borders in the interest of stability and security of the entire Europe," reads the document.

At the same time, Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania demonstrate strong intention to further strengthen their strategic partnership on the basis of mutual trust and respect, openness and comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the nations of both states.
