The economy of the future is the economy of knowledge and Ukraine has powerful intellectual potential for development and prosperity.

This was stated by First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv at the XVI International Economic Forum in Lviv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ukraine is not only a country that is at war with Russia. It is a country that holds the third place in the world in terms of the number of skilled IT professionals. It’s the second world's largest producer of steel in Europe. It’s the world's largest exporter of sunflower oil. Ukrainian engineers work at Google, Microsoft and other leading IT companies. We have strong infrastructure, airlines; we are the country of huge opportunities for innovation development,” Kubiv said.

According to him, the work on reforms and development of the country still continues. In particular, participants in the Forum signed a number of memoranda, which officially confirmed the joining of efforts aimed at developing national, cultural, economic and social interests of Lviv region and Ukraine, promoting history, culture, traditions and improving the image of Ukraine abroad.
