President Poroshenko, Hungary’s PM Orban discuss extension of sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban in the city of Maastricht in the Netherlands, the president's press service reports.

“The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral relations. The agreement was achieved to facilitate a bilateral political dialogue at all levels. The head of state expressed gratitude to the government of Hungary for providing humanitarian assistance worth $3.6 million to Ukraine and treatment to the Ukrainian servicemen wounded in the ATO zone,” reads the report.

In addition, President Poroshenko praised the support of Hungary on the issue a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union, as well as the ratification of the Association Agreement as soon as possible.

When speaking about the settlement of the conflict in Donbas, the sides discussed prospects of extending economic sanctions against the Russian Federation as an efficient tool to ensure the full implementation of Minsk agreements and resume the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
