The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine will help the EU to monitor the use of financial assistance to Ukraine.

"October 19, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) signed the cooperation agreement. The document was signed for the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and is intended to coordinate efforts in the fight against fraud and corruption. The document was signed by NABU Director Artem Sytnik and OLAF Director-General Giovanni Kessler," the NABU press service reports.

The agreement provides for conduct of joint investigation and exchange of information on fraud and irregularities which affect the EU budget and could harm its financial interests. "Among other things, the agreement also stipulates prevention of fraud regarding the funds which are provided to Ukraine by the European Commission within the framework of the financial support package worth EUR 11 billion," the statement reads.
