Ukrainians in Australia are urged to join StopPutin campaign

Ukrinform
Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations calls on every representative of the Ukrainian community of Australia to write a letter to the Foreign Minister or the members of the Parliament to draw attention to human rights violations committed by the regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin, namely the illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens.

This is said in the statement of the Federation, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"There are 38,000 Ukrainians in Australia. Even if 10% of you react, there will be 3,800 letters, emails or phone calls. 20% is 7,600 letters, emails or phone calls," the AFUO statement reads.

In turn, the AFUO leadership has already appealed to Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop urging her to condemn the illegal actions of Russia and to step up pressure on Russian President Putin demanding to release all Ukrainian political prisoners.
