France doesn’t recognize legitimacy of the Russian elections in Crimea

France, as well as the European Union, and other international organizations have not recognized the results of elections to the Russian State Duma, which were held in Crimea.

Deputy spokesperson of the French Foreign Ministry Alexandre Giorgini said at a briefing in Paris, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“France doesn’t recognize either legitimacy of holding or results of the voting taken place in Crimea on September 18. Our position is clear and consistent: France, as well as the EU and all international organizations, doesn’t recognize the annexation of Crimea,” the diplomat said.
