Poroshenko to meet with Obama and Clinton

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says that during his upcoming visit to the United States he will meet with U.S. President Barack Obama and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

President Poroshenko said this when opening a plenary sitting of the 13th YES Annual Meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I’ll have a meeting with U.S. President Obama and I’ve asked for a meeting with two [presidential] candidates. One of them has already agreed - Hillary Clinton. I’m waiting for the confirmation from the second candidate – Trump,” President Poroshenko said.

He also noted that there is support for Ukraine from the United States in general – from Republicans and Democrats. "It’s not the support from a certain senator or congressman; it’s a manifestation of support from the American people,” President Poroshenko said, when asked about Ukraine’s expectations from the next U.S. president.
