Ukraine-EU summit may be postponed again – source

The bilateral Ukraine-EU summit, which was postponed from May 19 to September this year, may be again delayed until the end of the year.

Senior EU diplomat said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent. "The leaders gather at the summits seeking to have high-level meetings on the agenda and concrete results. The summits provide an opportunity to declare success and progress in cooperation at the highest political level. The completion of the visa liberalization process and the extension of macro-financial assistance to Kyiv are relevant today for Ukraine and the EU. It is obvious that these and other issues will not be settled in September," he said.

The diplomat noted that the postponement of the EU-Ukraine summit for a later date this year could be, therefore, a logical decision of the parties.
