President Poroshenko signs amendments to some laws for EU-Ukraine visa liberalization

Ukrainian President Petro has signed amendments to some legislative acts regarding documents certifying the citizenship of Ukraine and which are aimed at the liberalization of a visa-free regime with the European Union, the president’s press service reports. 

“President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law, No. 1474-VIII, on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding documents certifying the citizenship of Ukraine, identifying a person or its special status, which are aimed at the liberalization of the EU visa regime with Ukraine. The law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 14 July 2016,” reads a report.

Thus, the law specifies a list of identification documents, certifying the citizenship of Ukraine or special status of a person, with contactless electronic carrier or not, determines a legal status of certain categories of persons. The adoption of the law provides for amendments to the current governmental and departmental acts.
