US passes defense policy bill, approving $150 mln in security aid for Ukraine

The U.S. House passed a $610.5 billion defense policy bill, setting the military priorities for 2017. 

The document would approve $150 million in security assistance for Ukraine, Bloomberg reports.

The measure would also allow as much as $680 million to be spent to train and equip Iraqi forces, including an additional $50 million to support Kurdish fighters.

Moreover, the strategy at the heart of next year’s budget continues the fight against Islamic State terrorists.
