The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appealed to the international community with a request to respond to the crime, committed by the Russian Justice Ministry by banning the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people as an extremist organization.

Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy said this today, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The whole nation has been declared extremists for the first time since the era of dictators Hitler and Stalin. It is a manifestation of Russian fascism... On behalf of the Ukrainian Parliament, I appeal to international organizations to respond to this crime. I address the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry with a request to consider the possibility of convening an urgent UN Security Council meeting on this matter," Parubiy said.

“Our task is to make every effort to free our lands and our Crimean Tatar brothers from occupation as soon as possible,” Parubiy added.
