Sakvarelidze doesn’t plan to leave Ukraine

Former deputy prosecutor general David Sakvarelidze, who has been earlier dismissed by Viktor Shokin, says he doesn’t plan to leave the country.

He said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I’m a citizen of Ukraine. I’ve stated not once that I’m not going to run away or go somewhere. I have responsibilities; I’ve given a promise to the Ukrainian people. This is for me just a human, professional, men’s and moral challenge to fight till the end,” Sakvarelidze said.

He also called on the politicians and the society to observe that a worthy person become a new prosecutor general, and not be afraid to change the prosecutor general’s agencies.
