Foreign Ministry calls for Russia to cancel Savchenko’s sentence

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has expressed decisive and categorical protest against a so-called “sentence” issued by a so-called “Russian court” upon Ukrainian citizen, MP of Ukraine and PACE member, Nadiya Savchenko to 22 years in prison.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“This sentence is irrefutable proof that it’s no use to seek justice in modern Russia. When Russia is interested in politics, it remains indifferent to the fundamental norms and principles of the international law in the sphere of protection of human rights and freedoms, their own law, humanism, justice and basic norms of morality,” the foreign ministry said.
