Ukrainian World Congress calls on the world to continue sanctions against Russia

President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij stated, an Ukrinfom correspondent reported.

"The Ukrainian World Congress welcomes the extension of sanctions and calls on the international community to strongly support the position on full compliance with the fundamental principle of the inviolability of borders of independent states," he said.

The Ukrainian World Congress recalled that in March US President Barack Obama extended sanctions against Russia for one more year until March of 2017, referring to the threat to national security and foreign policy of the USA, representing actions and policies of those who undermined democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine.

The European Union also extended the restrictions against individuals and companies involved in violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine until September of this year.
