Poroshenko urges Turkish Parliament to recognize deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 as genocide

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has called on the Turkish Parliament to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 as the genocide.
Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Head of State Svyatoslav Tseholko posted this on Twitter.
"President calls on the Turkish Parliament to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 as genocide," Tseholko wrote.
As a reminder, Poroshenko is now paying a two-day official visit to the Republic of Turkey.
Protection of the rights of the Crimean Tatars and coordination of the joint actions on restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty over the Crimean peninsula became the main issues discussed by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
