German Foreign Ministry: The sooner elections in Donbas are held, the better

Berlin believes that the sooner elections in Donbas are held, the better it will be for promotion of the political process within the framework of the Minsk Agreements.
Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Germany Martin Schaefer said this on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent in Germany reports.
"The sooner elections are held, the better it will be for the Minsk process," the diplomat said.
However, he said, "it is impossible to name the exact date of the election till we have no details of the relevant law, not to mention provision of security to hold these elections."
Schaefer recalled that at the last meeting in Munich in mid-February, all four participants had agreed that it was necessary to provide the OSCE and the Trilateral Contact Group with the specific proposals on how to prepare a law on local elections in Donbas.
