Steinmeier insists on elections in Donbas

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has stated again that reaching the agreement on adoption of the law on elections in Donbas by Ukraine should become the next step within the "Normandy format."
Steinmeier made such a statement during the Helsinki Commission Hearing at the U.S. Congress, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Now we [the representatives of the “Normandy format”] are discussing the next step. According to the Minsk Agreements, the next thing to be done now is reaching the agreement on the new electoral law to organize elections in eastern Ukraine," Steinmeier said.
The German Foreign Minister believes that this step will allow creating "new legitimacy" in Donbas.
