Russian border service resumes operations to let Ukraine vehicles proceed to Crimea

Russian border service on Wednesday have resumed traffic for vehicles registered in mainland Ukraine and heading to Crimea through its checkpoint located across from Ukrainian checkpoint Kalanchak.

Assistant chief of Azov-Black Sea regional department of the State Border Service of Ukraine on media relations Maksym Soroka told Ukrinform.

"On Wednesday at around 20.30 Russian services relaunched processing vehicles to let them into Crimea via its checkpoint. Thus, the movement of vehicles registered in mainland Ukraine towards temporarily occupied Crimea that was suspended on Wednesday by the Russians at checkpoints outside Ukrainian checkpoints Chonhar and Kalanchak was resumed," said Soroka.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that occupying Russian service at checkpoints had technical issues with electronic customs data on Wednesday at the administrative line between the Kherson region and Crimea.
