EU’s sanctions against former allies of Yanukovych will remain valid until March 6, 2016.

In addition, the appeal against the ruling of the European Court of Justice on lifting the sanctions may be filed within two months, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Kasko said in an interview with Den Ukrainian newspaper

"The European Court of Justice ruled to lift the restrictive measures against five former Ukrainian high-ranking officials, namely, Mykola Azarov, Oleksiy Azarov, Serhiy Arbuzov, Serhiy Kliuyev and Eduard Stavytsky, which were effective from March 6, 2014 till March 5, 2015. At the same time, the sanctions imposed by the Council of the European Union on March 5, 2015, are effective now and were not the subject of the ruling of the European Court," he said.

Kasko added that the assets, blocked by the European side on the basis of the decision of the Council of the European Union of March 5, 2015, would stay under administrative arrest: "The validity of the restrictive measures is up to March 6, 2016. Moreover, the appeal against the ruling of the European Court of Justice on lifting the sanctions may be filed within two months upon its announcement."
