National Bank headed by Valeria Hontareva
KYIV, June 19 /Ukrinform/. The parliament approved Valeria Hontareva as governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
349 deputies voted for this decision at the VR meeting Thursday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Prior to this, the Parliament of Ukraine by 302 votes dismissed Stepan Kubiv, previous governor of the National Bank.
On the eve, President of Ukraine Poroshenko proposed the appointment of Valeria Hontareva as head of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Valeria Hontareva was born October 20, 1964, in Dnipropetrovsk.
In 1987, she graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
In 1993-1996 - Chief Economist at the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange.
In 1997 she earned a degree in Economics at the Kyiv National Economic University.
In 1996-2001 - member of the Board of the JSCB Societe Generale Ukraine.
In 2001-2007 - First Deputy Chairman and Head of Financial Markets Department at the JSB ING Bank Ukraine.
From December 2007 until now - head of the Board of Directors of the Investment Capital Ukraine (ICU).
In June 2008, she was awarded the medal and diploma of the Cabinet for her personal contribution to development of the stock market of Ukraine and professionalism.
She is married and has two sons.
