Ukrainian media report Sloviansk separatist leader Viacheslav Ponomariov as saying this.

"He asked local residents to report to the “people's militia" about all suspicious persons in the city, especially those, who speak the Ukrainian language," a statement reads.

Ponomariov also promised that the local media will publish a phone number for information about Ukrainian-speaking citizens.

Furthermore, Ponomariov said that the opposition political forces, such as UDAR, Svoboda and Batkivshchyna are banned in the city, as well as campaigning for them.

The separatist leader also said that April 22, "the first city council meeting” will be held, and May 11 - a referendum on federalization and the Russian language.

Earlier it was reported that the armed separatists of Sloviansk break into the homes of Gipsies, beat and rob them, regardless of gender and age. In particular, a few women and children were beaten. Separatists argue that they act on an instruction from "people's mayor” Viacheslav Ponomariov. In addition, they admitted that they hold city mayor Nelia Shtepa.
