Lukashenko assures Kuchma that he supports Ukraine's territorial integrity

KYIV, March 5 /Ukrinform/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko assured that his country supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and settlement of the situation peacefully.

He said this in a phone conversation with the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, according to the press office of Kuchma's Ukraine Charity Foundation.

"The leader of the neighboring state has unequivocally reiterated the position of his country: Belarus favors the territorial integrity of Ukraine. A solution to all pressing domestic and international problems should be found only through peaceful means," the report says.

Lukashenko also said he intends to voice such a position on Wednesday during a trilateral meeting of the presidents of the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan in Moscow.

In turn, Kuchma thanked Lukashenko for his balanced stance, stressing that "we must not allow developments in another scenario."
