MEP Daniel van der Stoep: Ukrainian elections organized better than European

KYIV, October 29 /UKRINFORM/. The parliamentary elections in Ukraine were organized better than in some European countries, Dutch MEP Daniel van der Stoep, European Center of Geopolitical Analysis, told reporters on Monday in Kyiv.

“If you compare with other Western countries, here everything was better organized," he said.

The MEP says it indicates that Ukraine "is moving forward”.

At the same time, he noted administrative shortcomings, in particular violation of the principle of secret vote because of transparent ballot boxes and lack of space at some polling stations, so it was possible to see how people were voting. At the same time, he noted that, in general, the electoral process was calm. "People feel safe that their choice will be respected, including by those who work in the election commissions," said van der Stoep.

UK MEP Nick Griffin compared the Ukrainian elections with the British ones, and noted that the Ukrainian elections were "fairer." "It was fair, transparent and democratic elections," he emphasized.

Czech MEP Vojtech Mynar particularly noted the organization and control of the voting process, which was provided on Election Day not only by international observers, but the observers from the political parties. "The control was such that there could be no errors,” he said after visiting five polling stations.
