Poroshenko signs bill canceling "Savchenko law"

President Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine on the Rules for the Sentences’ Cumulative and the Credit of the Term of Previous Detention" No. 2046-VIII.

The adoption of the legislative act is aimed at improving the state of ensuring and protecting the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen, property, public order and public safety from criminal encroachments.
The so-called "Law of Savchenko" was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 18, 2017.
