EU preliminarily agreed on extension of sanctions against economy of Crimea occupied by Russia

The European Union has approved a decision to extend for one more year the sanctions against the economy of Crimea that is occupied by Russia.

Such decision was approved on Tuesday by the permanent representatives of the member states at the Council of the EU, the source told Ukrinform.

"The ambassadors have approved a decision to extend restrictive measures against the economy of Crimea that was illegally annexed by Russia. On June 19, the EU Council on Foreign Affairs is expected to adopt a formal legal decision on this matter without debate," the source said.
