Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine, Hugh Mingarelli notes the need to continue the improvement of Ukrainian electoral legislation and renew the membership of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine.

He stated this at the opening of the second Global Legislative Openness Conference in Kyiv on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ukraine undoubtedly needs a long process of reforming the electoral legislation and renewing the membership of the Central Election Commission. I know, Mr. Parubiy, it is not a surprise for you, but for us it is really important that you progress quickly and advance in these two difficult directions,” Mingarelli said, addressing Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.

In his turn, Parubiy stressed that the Ukrainian Parliament was doing everything possible to ensure its openness and democracy.
