Chairman of BPP faction in Verkhovna Rada resigns

Chairman of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ihor Hryniv has resigned.

His deputy, MP Serhiy Berezenko said this on the air of 24 Ukrainian TV channel.

Hryniv announced his decision at the faction’s meeting on Thursday, March 23. Now the ex-chairman of the faction will focus on the work of the strategic adviser to the President of Ukraine.

Berezenko also noted he supported the candidacy of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman as the party's leader.

"If we assume responsibility, the law does not prohibit the prime minister from heading the political power and leading this political force to the next parliamentary elections, as the elections will result in the formation of the coalition and position of the Prime Minister," Berezenko said.
