Merkel, Trump to discuss implementation of Minsk agreements - source

The conflict in Ukraine will be one of the most important topics during the upcoming negotiations between Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of the United States Donald Trump on March 14.
Ukrinform learned this from a source in the German Government on the eve of the visit of Merkel to Washington.
"The Chancellor will discuss with Trump, the new administration, the implementation of the Minsk agreements," he said.
A senior official of the Chancellery noted that the cooperation of the EU, as well as Germany and France as participants in the "Normandy format", with the U.S. has been always close regarding this issue and he expressed confidence that it would be the same.
According to him, Merkel and Trump will discuss a wide range of international issues, including the situation in the Middle East, Afghanistan, Africa, as well as relations within NATO in the context of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
