Opposition wants election in Kyiv on July 16

KYIV, May 9 /UKRINFORM/. Lawmakers of the faction Batkivshchyna propose that the parliament set the election of Kyiv mayor and Kyiv City Council deputies for July 16, 2013.
The relevant draft resolutions (2961 and 2962) were registered at the Verkhovna Rada on May 8.
They were authored by Oleksandr Chernovolenko and Yuriy Odarchenko.
Earlier attempts by the opposition to vote for a specific date of the elections in Kyiv were unsuccessful. Representatives of the Party of Regions say they will determine the date of elections in the capital only after an appropriate decision of the Constitutional Court.
