Australia-Ukraine parliamentary friendship group formed

"The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations welcomes the creation of a new Australia-Ukraine parliamentary group at the Australian Federal Parliament and looks forward to working with the group and its leaders," Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) Chairman Stefan Romaniw said, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The group consists of 30 parliamentarians led by Federal Member for Dunkley Chris Crewther.

The official solemn event dedicated to the launch of the group with the participation of the Ukrainian Embassy to Australia and the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations is expected to be held in the Australian parliament in the near future. During the event, a briefing will be held for the group members on current issues of bilateral relations, situation in Ukraine and discussion of proposals for the group’s work.
