The Ukrainian World Congress welcomes the signing by United States President Donald Trump of the Bill "Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act".

This was stated by President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The Ukrainian World Congress welcomes the signing by President of the United States of America of the Bill "Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act" and urges the United States to increase sanctions as soon as possible against the Russian Federation, which for over three years has been violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine and intensifying its military actions in Eastern Ukraine," the UWC president said.

As reported, the Bill "Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act" (HR 3364) reinforces the ability of the U.S. Congress to control the implementation of sanctions, in particular against Iran, the Russian Federation and North Korea, for their dangerous and hostile actions that undermine the U.S. and its allies. In the case of the Russian Federation, sanctions were implemented in response to its illegal annexation of Crimea and invasion of the territories of Eastern Ukraine.
