OSCE Mission: Alexander Hug to visit Donbas on August 6

Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Alexander Hug will travel to eastern Ukraine from August 6 to August 11.

This is reported by the press service of the OSCE.

"The purpose of the visit is to assess the security situation and its impact on the civilian population, as well as to encourage all concerned to work towards peace and normalization of the situation in the country," the report reads.

Hug will visit Donetsk and Luhansk regions, meet the SMM teams, conduct meetings with representatives of the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination and other relevant interlocutors.

During the visit, Hug will join other SMM monitors in patrolling the contact line.

He will also hold news briefings on the results of his visit.
