National Geographic names 2017 Travel Photographer of the Year

National Geographic has named the winner of the 2017 Travel Photographer of the Year photo contest.
Both professionals and amateurs participated in the contest.
Mexican Sergio Tapiro Velaco's photo of Mount Colima during a powerful eruption on December 13, 2015 impressed the jury the most. So the photographer will go on a 10-day trip to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic Expeditions.
