Ukraine’s delegation to PACE to raise issue of political prisoners

At the PACE session in Strasbourg in January, the Ukrainian delegation will raise the issue of illegal detention of Ukrinform journalist Roman Sushchenko and illegal imprisonment of filmmaker Oleg Sentsov in Russia, as well as persecution of Crimean journalist Mykola Semena and Crimean Tatar media in Crimea.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Volodymyr Aryev said this in a commentary to Ukrinform.
"I will present a report on the freedom of expression in Europe. I will outline the situation of Roman Sushchenko in a separate subparagraph... There will be a call for his release, for release of Sentsov. I will touch upon the persecution of the Crimean Tatar media in Crimea, persecution of journalist Crimean journalist Mykola Semena," he said.
