Russian fake: Ukraine is looking for mobilization reserve through care services for elderly

Ukrinform
Russian propaganda continues to create fakes according to the narratives approved by the Kremlin

A Russian Telegram channel has shared a screenshot of alleged corporate correspondence from employees of the Nadiia care service, in which the service's management asks employees to provide information about people over 60 who are in "sufficient" physical shape. In turn, propagandists attribute this to casualties on the battlefield and the alleged further mobilization of men who are no longer liable for military service due to their age.

This screenshot is a fake, and the information is not true. In a comment to Ukrinform, a representative of the Nadiia care service said that the institution does not gather information. They also added that they provide care services for the elderly aged 78 to 100.

According to the Ukrainian legislation, during martial law and general mobilization, which has been extended until November 15, men can be mobilized up to the age of 60.

In late August, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine said that the Russian presidential administration held at a meeting at which a new narrative was approved for the Russian disinformation campaign to discredit Ukraine and influence its partners in the world. In particular, it was said that all Ukrainians, regardless of gender, age, or health status, would be subject to mobilization.

In September, Ukrinform already refuted several Russian fakes on this topic: about the mobilization of Ukrainian students and minors.
