Explosions near Zhytomyr kill two, injure fifteen

The explosions in the village of Berezyna near Zhytomyr killed two people and injured fifteen more.

The was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, via Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Two explosions occurred in the village of Berezyna, near Zhytomyr, on the M-06 international road. Unfortunately, we can already confirm two fatalities and 15 injuries," he wrote.

The blasts also damaged several private households in the area. Emergency services have deployed an operational headquarters at the site, and specialized crews are providing assistance to those affected.

According to the Patrol Police of Zhytomyr region, traffic in both directions is currently blocked at the 126th kilometer of the M-06 Kyiv–Chop road.

The Zhytomyr Regional State Administration has urged residents to take safety precautions by keeping windows closed, limiting time outdoors, drinking plenty of water, and using air purifiers where available
