Thirteen countries have already provided assistance to Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of the flood caused by the Russian army blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant’s dam.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted this at a government meeting on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.

"Thirteen countries have already provided assistance to Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of the terrorist attack. We are talking about dozens and hundreds of boats, rafts, motor pumps, generators, containers, and tanks," Shmyhal said.

According to the head of government, the Dnipro water is on the decline but 30 settlements across Kherson region and 31 in Mykolaiv region remain flooded. More than 3,700 people have already been evacuated.

"The government allocated almost UAH 2.5 billion to provide the south of the country with water. We are starting the construction of new water mains, assessing the damage, and forming a list of affected communities, ensuring that drinking water is delivered," said Prime Minister Shmyhal.

He added that the Cabinet was passing an order regarding the need for the local authorities in Kherson region to set up inspections of damaged buildings and structures. Calculations should be made regarding compensation to restore people's homes.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam. In Kherson region, the rescue and evacuation operation is ongoing in the flood-affected areas. The situation is especially difficult in the temporarily occupied territories, where Russian invaders provide no assistance to Ukrainian citizens.
