Kakhovka Reservoir shallowed by 70%

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"As of this morning, the reservoir lost 70% or 13.95 cubic kilometers of water after the occupiers blew up the Kakhovka HPP,” the report says.

At the same time, experts record a decrease in the water level in the Dnipro River below the destroyed  Kakhovka HPP dam. Thus, near Kherson, the water level has decreased by almost 1.5 meters, to 4.2 meters. On average, water levels drop by 1-5 centimeters per hour every day.

According to the laboratory studies carried out by specialists of the State Environmental Inspectorate and the State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine, the content of petroleum products in the Dnipro and Inhulets Rivers does not exceed the maximum permissible concentration.

The ministry emphasizes that environmental inspectors continue to record and estimate all the damage caused to the environment by Russia's terrorist attack on the Kakhovka HPP.
