Over 1,600 households flooded across Ukraine, water level rise reduces in northern areas

In northern Ukraine, the rate of water level rise in rivers is reducing. But, over 1,600 households are remaining flooded all over the country.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Currently, the hydrological situation is controlled. There is a tendency for the rate of water level rise to reduce in northern Ukraine,” the report states.

A total of 1,618 households are remaining flooded (488 in the Chernihiv region, 323 in the Kirovohrad region, 337 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, 210 in the Kyiv region, 153 in the Cherkasy region, and 107 in the Poltava region), as well as 340 houses (182 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, 87 in the Kirovohrad region, 40 in the Cherkasy region, 29 in the Chernihiv region, and two in the Poltava region).

Additionally, a total of 21,100 hectares of agricultural lands were flooded in the Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn, Rivne, Cherkasy and Poltava regions. Transport services were interrupted across 30 settlements (29 in the Chernihiv region, and one in the Kyiv region).

Over the past day, rescuers have pumped out 1,130 cubic meters of water and transported 271 persons through water obstacles. Some 163 professionals and 66 equipment units were involved in rescue works.
