Two Ukrainians who were considered dead in Turkey quake saved from rubble - ambassador

Two Ukrainian citizens, who were considered dead after an earthquake in Turkey, have been rescued from under the rubble of a collapsed building.

Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Citizens of Ukraine are alive! Fortunately, according to verified information, two citizens of Ukraine, who were considered dead in the Turkish city of Hatay, have been rescued from the ruins of a building. Thank God!" the diplomat said.

Bodnar promised to provide details later.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko said earlier that the Turkish side reported the probable death of two Ukrainians, with the Embassy of Ukraine verifying the information and establishing the identities of the dead.
