Kuleba on explosion at Ukraine’s embassy in Spain: This is attack on diplomatic mission

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba called the explosion of an envelope at the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain an attack on a diplomatic mission and a terrorist attack.

"This is a very serious incident. This is an attack on a diplomatic mission, which is protected by international law, so the Spanish police now conduct an investigation. We treat it as carefully as possible," Kuleba said live on Facebook.

Kuleba also informed that the commandant had already returned to the embassy and was given medical assistance, there is no threat to his life.

"When a perpetrator of this terrorist attack is established, we will take all measures so that this person or these people are punished severely," the minister noted.

On November 30, the Spanish mass media reported on the explosion at the Embassy of Ukraine in Madrid. The embassy’s commandant received minor injuries and was hospitalized – the envelope exploded in his hands. The rest of the employees were not injured.
