
Rescuers deliver 10 tonnes of food to residents of flood-affected regions in western Ukraine
The press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine wrote about this on Facebook.
"10 tonnes of food and 25.3 tonnes of drinking water were delivered to the residents suffered from floods in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil and Lviv regions," reads the statement.
According to the ministry, the rescuers, the National Police and local authorities continue to help the population.
As Ukrinform reported, heavy rains on June 22-24 caused floods in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, and Ternopil regions. Three people were killed in floods and one more went missing. Hundreds of kilometers of roads, dozens of bridges were destroyed, and hundreds of people were resettled.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid a working visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region on June 25 to inspect the aftermath of floods and review an emergency response.
The Cabinet of Ministers allocated almost UAH 700 million for the needs of the regions to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster.
