Over 1,600 people died in fires in Ukraine since start of year

Since the start of 2019, 94,463 fires have been recorded in Ukraine, which have killed 1,633 people, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.
"Since the beginning of the year, 1,633 people have died in fires and 1,356 people have got various types of injuries,” reads a report.
According to the State Emergency Service, the most common causes of residential fires are smoking in bed, overloaded electrical outlets and overuse of home heating systems.
