Ukraine’s Emergency Service warns of snow avalanche risk in Carpathian region

On February 5, significant avalanche danger remains in mountainous areas of Zakarpattia and Lviv regions.
The State Emergency Service reported this with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts.
“On February 5, a considerable (III) level of avalanche risk remains in mountainous areas of Zakarpattia and Lviv regions due to thaw and precipitation in the mountains,” the report says.
In addition, there is a threat of snow falling on highways in the mountainous areas of Zakarpattia region.
As reported, on February 3, during the examination of avalanche sites of the mountain Play (Zakarpattia region), seven avalanche tracks were detected.
