Strong wind, snowstorm expected in Ukraine today; avalanche danger remains in Carpathians

On January 14, wind gusts of 15–20 m / s, snowstorm and sleet are expected in Ukraine; significant avalanche danger still remains in the Carpathian mountains.

The State Emergency Service reported this with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts.

“On January 14, wind gusts of 15-20 m / s, snow, freezing rain and sleet are expected in Ukraine,” the report says.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts, considerable (III) level of avalanche risk is expected in the mountainous areas of Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions due to snow falls and blizzards.
