Ukraine’s Emergency Service warns of avalanche risk in Carpathians

On December 26, a significant avalanche danger is expected in mountainous areas of Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions.

The State Emergency Service reported this with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center's forecasts.

“On December 26, a considerable (III) level of avalanche risk is expected in mountainous areas of Ivano-Frankivsk region and Lviv regions,” the report reads.

On Wednesday, snow and sleet are expected throughout Ukraine. Temperature will be from 6 degrees below zero to 2 degrees above zero. Wind gusts will be up to 20 meters per second.
